Today is the day when we can actually take a stand and exercise our right to vote. I remember in 1994 when South Africa held its first multiracial election. More than 22 million South Africans turned out to vote, some waiting for hours. My friend Dumisani had returned to South Africa after many years in exile. He shared with me the amazing energy that he felt as millions turned out to vote. It is a privilege and a way to let your voice be heard.
Today, history may be made as millions turn out to vote for the first woman President of the United States. However the hatred, anger and sheer nastiness of this election has taken a toll on friends, family members and communities.
As an antidote to the anxiety of this election, I am gifting you with a meditation that you can listen to whenever you feel stressed. Click Here to listen.
If we truly believe, as I do, that it is time for the Divine Feminine to truly partner with the Divine Masculine, then we have to take action that brings us together. We must find ways to sit down with those who hold different views from us. We must really listen to understand.
As Joe Weston founder of Respectful Confrontation said, “You can’t solve a problem until you can locate and identify what the problem is. The first step in healing and reconciliation is noticing.”
The Divine Feminine believes in either/and not either/or. On this note, The Shift Network is holding an entire day of healing and reconciliation on Sunday. It will be live streamed FREE. You can hear Rabbi David Ingber founder of Romemu, Marianne Williamson, Stephen Dinan, Dr. Oz, Rev. Sylvia Sumter minister of Unity of Washington, D.C. and many others. Sign up at: http://dayofhealing.us/.
They also suggest that on Sunday you:
– Hug someone who voted for a different Presidential candidate.
– Talk to someone with different politics and offer words of honoring and appreciation.
– Do a random act of kindness for someone with different political beliefs.
– Have a meal with someone on the other side of a divide.
– Use your creativity to come up with your own action and share!
