In today’s video I am happy to share a great technique that I learned many years ago from my friend and breath-work expert Nancy Walsh – Finger Holds. This technique is based on polarity and connected to the art of Jin shin Jyutsu, a Japanese acupressure technique and is intended to neutralize negative emotions. As we neutralize these emotions we then have the energy we require to move forward to create the new with more joy and ease.
Finger Hold Technique:
As you hold each finger, breathe in deeply; recognize and acknowledge the strong or disturbing feelings or emotions you hold inside yourself. Breathe out slowly and let go. Imagine the feelings draining out your finger into the earth. Breathe in a sense of harmony, strength and healing. And breathe out slowly, releasing past feelings and problems.
Each finger helps release a different emotion.
1) The Thumb helps release insecurity.
2) The Index Finger helps releases fear.
3) The Third Finger helps releases anger
4) The Fourth Finger helps release sorrow and grief.
5) The Pinky (little finger) helps release denial and confusion.
